Birds of a Feather

This uplifting piece of chamber music for Intermediate/Advanced players was inspired by the many different birdsongs that Anita Hewitt Jones heard in her garden at home in Cheltenham. Listen out for the calls of the different birds, cleverly woven in to each of the catchy tunes!

Movement 1: "The Owl and Cuckoo": A joyful 'Allegretto'
Movement 2: "The Wood Pigeon": An evocative and contemplative 'Andante'
Movement 3: "The Blackbird": A lively and spirited 'Allegro giocoso' in a 9/8 time signature.

Birds of a Feather has also become a great favourite for String Quartets to play at weddings while waiting for the bride to arrive!
